Brickhouse Social doesn’t look like the most inviting of places from outside, I’d compare it to an abandoned office block. Some stairs lead up to an inviting looking second floor bar, but this was closed during a recent Monday early evening visit, so I had to make an unexpected turn to the left past a shuffleboard table and seating to a serving counter that runs across the rear on the first floor. Carling and premium keg were available from the polite barman. The décor is functional and screams student bar, but I did like the back bar enough to mention it in my notes, no idea why though! There were a handful of young people in, most of whom were playing pool, I counted four tables up the right. A student bar for student people.
