Strongers . left this review about The Waiting Room @ Queen Hotel
Part of the enormous Queens Hotel, the Waiting Room is the hotel’s bar that has been modelled with a nod to the 1920s. In the centre of the room is an elongated oval marble topped serving counter with a large glass back that supports numerous shelves full of spirits and wines. The right end of the bar extends out to accommodate three large bucket style armchairs for those that like to chat with the staff while drinking. Three large art deco lights hang above this counter that is surrounded by white tiling that runs into parquet flooring that stretches to the curved exterior walls where a mix of seating runs around. This is one of those paces that makes a change from the typical pub, nice to visit for one but wouldn’t get into a round… especially at those prices.

pretty boring bar of prominent hotel outside Chester station, it dispensed two real ales from Weetwood of which Cheshire Cat was fine. not pub like but with a nice range of seating it’s comfortable enough to wait in here before your train and less rowdy than the Town Crier.

As noted, this is the public bar for a hotel therefore its quite different from its neighbouring, more down to earth pub, The Town Crier, opposite. A quite plush room is accessed via the City Rd entrance and is to your right. A couple of real ales were available. Not really a place to go unless you're staying here or waiting for a train.
