peter ashworth left this review about General Havelock
The General Havelock is a 200 year old roadside inn in the pleasant village of Haydon Bridge and now classes itself as a Gastro pub.On entry the bar is to your right and beyond this is the dining area which is an old barn conversion that offers views over the south Tyne river. There was just one real ale on show on my Tuesday lunchtime visit (Shuggy Boat Blonde from the Cullercoats Brewery)but could not help thinking while sat in the smallish bar area that I was invading someone's front room.Nevertheless even though the pub concentrates more on the diner than the drinker found the pub ok and quite enjoyed my short stay talking to the pleasant and chatty landlady before I boarded my bus back to Carlisle.
