The last time I was in this bar was when Argentina knocked England out of the World Cup in 1998 and I can remember it not being as busy as the other drinking establishments in the area as the commentary on the projector screen was in Spanish. After losing the match on penalties I can remember someone spraying the seating at the left hand side of this small bar with a fire extinguisher and all hell broke loose outside the entrance to the Hammersmith and City line Station – Ah, the good old days! I can’t remember any draught beer being sold as this was more of a European bottled beer and wine bar with tapas being the main draw, and very nice it was too. I can remember one of the barmen as being a bit slimy, but the owners were very friendly and as I worked just around the corner for six years I would often spend lunchtime in here during the week as a change from sitting in the pub. Unsurprisingly Salsa music was always playing which I enjoyed listening to.
It is a shame to learn that this place has closed for good.
