Real Ale Ray left this review about Red Lion
A Camra National Inventory Pub, and well worth a visit. The pub is dated 1722, has low ceilings, stone flag floors and lots of stunning timber work. The main bar is on the left and had three ales on handpump. I went for the Elmtree Brewery Burstons Cuckoo, which was superb. The central kitchen area is open plan, the barmaid went from the bar to help out chopping some carrots for the lunchtime menu. The barmaid told us that they have nothing to hide, all the ingredients are fresh and locally sourced. There were two mains on for lunch, shame we didn't stay.
