A fairly standard large Holts pub on the main Horwich roundabout with a sizeable bar plus vault with pool table. I didn’t notice any guest ales but it did have Holts Bitter, Mild and Two Hoots plus a couple of seasonals and a Rosies cider. Pretty busy on a Saturday evening with a good atmosphere if slightly corporate, with chain food menus on every table. My mild was superb though and it would certainly be a decent local.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Crown
Imposing Holt's pub on the town's main road junction, although the interior is slightly less impressive than the fine facades might suggest because it has been partly opened-out at some stage. That said, it still retains some character, with a side lounge off the main bar and another room behind the central servery with a pool table. I found five of the brewery's beers plus three guests - including the Flat Cap from Bank Top (£3.55) - being served from a total of 14 handpumps divided between the two counters.

Old Boots left this review about The Crown
A Holts tied house with 8 pulls, beer of good quality. The pub is in the fork of the road and although once multiroom has been reduced to a multi-space place with a rear bar housing pool tables. Otherwise a fairly standard wet led with food. Well frequented with locals on my Saturday evening visit.
