Strongers . left this review about The Holmbush Inn

The Holmbush Inn is on a country lane, just around the corner from Faygate Railway Station, where it sits between a car park to the left and a tall hedges to the right that hide a covered patio and grass covered beer garden full of picnic tables. The wooden floored L-shaped interior is open plan with a mix of seating along the front windows either side of the central entrance. On the rear wall just off centre to the left is a serving counter that supports standard and premium keg alongside three hand pumps, two of which were in use drawing Harvey’s Best and Doom Bar. Against the exposed brick left-hand wall is a fireplace that was sat behind a bunch of flowers. A television on the chimney breast above was off there were no signs of satellite TV sports being advertised, however on the wall to the right of the fireplace a large blackboard advertising regular live music overlooks seating in the left rear corner of the pub. The exposed brick right-hand wall also has a fireplace, this one with a flame effect gas heater, that looks more like a screensaver, and a mirror on the chimney breast above. In the carpeted sunken right rear corner are three of four tables that are overlooked by a wall mounted deer’s head. During a recent Sunday early afternoon visit the pub was comfortably busy with all the tables taken with people of mixed ages, some of whom were eating and some weren’t. The service was very friendly and the family and I enjoyed our visit, it’s just a shame that the third hand pump wasn’t drawing something a little more interesting.
