Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Boars Head Tavern

Hall & Woodhouse pub to be found a short distance south of the town on the old main road to Worthing. Significantly remodelled and refurbished at some stage, but the front bar still looks quite traditional. A modernised dining room can be found beyond this, and there is an elevated side terrace with a rural outlook. I found a couple of Badger ales on the four handpumps: Fursty Ferret and Tangle Foot (£5.60).

It's a bit of a trek out of town, so that may be why The Boar's Head has tended to push the food angle. I've not eaten for a while so can't comment on the current standards, and there have been various changes of management over recent years. The blackboards and room laid out for diners suggested, on a recent visit, that eating is still popular. The pub is, these days, also making tentative steps into the local music scene to keep up the interest.

At the bar, it's standard Hall & Woodhouse fare: 2 ales (Badger & 'Sussex'), Hofbrau lager and Stowford cider. Can't say any of that excites me a great deal. The bar staff are good, though, so that's not so bad.

The terrace gives a great view back over Horsham, so that's possibly the best reason to call on a summer's day. For me, it's a bit too far and doesn't offer enough over the town centre pubs to entice me back regularly. I fear the same may be true for many locals.
