An odd modernised interior of the sort I at least can’t make my mind up about. It’s very opened out but has a central servery and a lot of rear space. The furnishings are best described as “Jazzy” in places but there’s brown leather banquettes, deco tabletops on cast iron bases and bentwood stools. Mercifully the colour scheme does not include grey, green or dark blue, however it does include exposed brick. Beerwise the three beer engines had Youngs Original (x2) and Proper Job, the Proper Job was a touch hazy and to the barman’s credit he was unsure and asked me to taste it and say yay or nay. I said yay. Fourteen keg taps of mundane offerings and lots of wine on the bar back. Best described as an “interesting” pub or perhaps a wine bar with beer.

This place dates from the early 19th century but was rebuilt in 1897; the name of the Isleworth Brewery can be seen to the right-hand gable.
The interior is spacious, with a very large extension built onto the rear. It has been modernised, but not savagely so, with a ‘tour’ available on the pub’s website; unfortunately, it doesn’t paint a very flattering picture of a typical modern gastropub interior, but it’s not so vulgar when viewed in the flesh; that or it has been toned down. The colour scheme is a combination of deep purple, patterned wallpaper, white ceiling with a little bare brick. Furniture is trendy, décor comprises shelved books and framed prints; one item of note is the embossed cornice to the mid-section.
As the Young’s pub surrounded by a pincer movement by three other Fuller’s pubs, the ale front was predictable, my Proper Job on great form, but at a barely credible £3.05 a half, a lot more than you’d pay in far more affluent locations in central London.
This is a reasonable pub, though unlike the other three has been unnecessarily made over, which probably explains why it was the least busy of the four, students conspicuous by their absence; perhaps they can’t afford to drink here.

Nice pub where you can eat or drink. Not a gastro nor a boozer so suits me fine.Nice comfortable bar area and a big room to the back leading to a large beer garden.Lovely sunday roast.Dull choice of regional beers on.Just what we need in the area another pub selling London Pride.
