Strongers . left this review about Elephant on the Hill

A recent Saturday afternoon visit to the Elephant on the Hill found it to be empty apart from two staff and a lone local who was propping up the bar. This bar that runs along the right hand wall supports two hand pumps, but alas they looked like they had not been used for some time. With only premium lagers being available I opted for half a Peroni that set me back £2.55. The Elephant advertises itself as a bar and kitchen, but I didn’t see any food advertised.

The interior is open plan with a raised seating area at the front that was advertised as being available for hire. At the rear is a dartboard and table football to the left of a small stage area. On the wall behind the stage was a projector screen that was not being used. I saw no advertisements for live sport, but there was some awful drum and base music playing in the background. The advertised weekly quiz takes place at 20:00 on Sundays and two for one cocktails are available every day from 17:00 until 19:00. Live music is mentioned within the pub’s website, but I didn’t see any signs for it during my visit.

Outside the front of the building is a terrace with picnic tables that overlook Lavender Hill. The opening times are 17:00 until 23:00 Monday until Thursday, 15:00 until midnight on Fridays, Noon until midnight on Saturdays and noon until 23:00 on Sundays.

I wasn’t very impressed with this place and do not plan to return any time soon.
