The exterior to this pub belies a modern interior. Though its not a bad place it is aimed at the younger end if the drinking classes. 3 handpumps on but nothing really of interest. Its a clean enough place but there are much better places around.

Old Boots left this review about The Northern Monkey
A single large corner room in a big building opposite “The Light” in the Headrow, other than an interesting name not much is different here to hundreds of other bars. Laminate floor with furnishings of those modern deco-like half round leather armchairs with some tall tables and chairs round two of the walls. The bar counter takes up much of a third wall and serves a fairly mundane range of the usual UK kegs and spirits etc. A DJ stand sits against one wall and two large screens take up a bit more wall space, there is constant music. The barman wore a tea cosy.
