Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Crown
Large Marston's '2 for 1' establishment also offering hotel accommodation. Slightly Tudorbethan exterior but partly opened-out and comprehensively refurbished inside so there is no character left in the various seating / dining areas. However, there is a small patio at the front and a reasonable beer garden out back (and formerly, if one of the black and white 1930s photographs on display is to be believed, a proper swimming pool). Three of four handpumps in use, offering Pedigree, Wainwright (£3.35) and Hobgoblin.

Only visited this scruffy 2 for 1 pub once.The clientelle were scary. I will leave it to braver men than me to discover its delight.
