Beautiful looking thatched cottage building. Sadly the rustic interior wasn’t open for seating (though we did get a couple of minutes inside whilst calls of nature were answered – see Soup’s description below, as it hasn’t changed) so we had to make do with a DIY covered area out back which had a bit more homely charm than some of the plastic tents encountered elsewhere. Two local ales, I went for Piddle Bent Copper which tasted like it sounded, though condition-wise it was fair (NBSS 2.5) - lack of turnover due to low customer numbers I suppose. Had a good gas with the landlady who was an absolute Archers character (‘school mistressy’ I saw elsewhere). In normal times I’d make a point of trying to do this one again as it’s got all the hallmarks of a quintessential village pub that were squashed by a combo of COVID and the govt’s bizarre pub rules. 7.5

What a find this was on our CAMRA coach trip round Salisbury area and called in here on the way home to the Midlands. Friendly locals pub with 3 good ales on. Collyfobble Sup-wiyo, Flack Manor Double Drop and BrightBeer Gold. Unable to trace the BrightBeer brewery but all beers were enjoyed here during our visit.

Another great experience! The standard is even better, food and beer superb. Almost worth moving to Netherhampton just to have it as a local! Charming staff, great beer and good food.
