A three roomed pub situated beside the Macclesfield Canal, the ugly charcoal-grey paint job that has been inflicted on it hides a very pleasant interior. Inside has lots of grey too, but it seems more subtle, or blends well with the green stools, perhaps. There are some attractive tiles on the floor leading from the entrance to the bar counter, which probably helps. The bar has three hand pumps, with Sharps Doom Bar, Wainwright and a beer called Canalcoholic from Laine brewery, which was fine but nothing special. It was quite busy, with many locals watching Stockport County losing to Wrexham.
