Attractive pub in the heart of Moseley. Very impressive clock tower. Friendly service with 3 ales and a few craft beers on offer. The ales were Doom Bar, Landlord and Dark Star Hophead. We went for the latter which was excellent. Managed to grab one of the 2 tables on the street and spent a happy half hour watching the world go by. Well worth a visit. Hard to believe that The Smiths played a very early gig here back in 1983!

Cavernous pub - with an interesting barometer outside predicting the weather. Don't know if it works or not.
Inside, its a L shaped room with high benches and stools. Four cask on and the Tribute was in decent condition. Lots of choice in the area, but I wasn't disappointed with my visit.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Fighting Cocks
Substantial building with an impressive and finely detailed façade. Slightly worried about whether the interior would be a big let-down, but it retains a number of interesting features around the bar, side lounge area and rear room. Well-lit during daytime too, with large stained-glass windows, but the limited number of steam-punk lanterns suggested a more Gothic feel later in the evening. Variety of furniture to suit most tastes. Four real ales on handpump: Doom Bar, Purity Pure UBU, Good Old Boy from West Berkshire and Wimbledon Common (nice enough, but expensive at £4.20).
