Large trendy pub recently re-decorated with dark turquoise and grey shades plus some striking wallpapering on the ceiling, so not a cheap job. Vibe is that this is the weekend par-tay venue for the local yoof and farmers. Two Ulverston Brewery beers on which was a surprise, maybe less so was that my Celebration was lacking turnover (but just about drinkable - NBSS 2). Friendly hyperactive barman who made a positive difference to the atmosphere.

Large open space with brick archways, hummingbird wallpaper on the ceiling. Potentially confusing for anyone who falls down drunk, but possibly the least of their worries. Six hand pumps with three beers from Ulverston brewery and one from Tirril, with one from each turned around (Tuesday afternoon). My half of Ulverston Lonesome Pine was fine (NBSS 3.5) but the same brewery's Laughing Gravy was getting towards the end, with a bananaish flavour discernable (NBSS 2). Very annoying and inescapable pop music and tall, thin Fosters glasses for my cask beer halves didn't improve my mood.

Town centre modern outfitted pub. A large open plan room with a sectioned off dining area to the right. Some rooms to the rear which I never ventured to. 6 handpulls on the bar with 3 local ales on. Pleasant enough but a bit bland.
