Thuck Phat left this review about The Olive Tree
I dropped in here a few times many years ago since when it has had a recent internal refurbishment leaving an open plan area with dining to the left, drinking to the right, in front of the bar, and an outside terrace at the front.
There isn't anything exceptional here and it has always felt more of a food focused roadhouse than a village local. Nonetheless, the service was helpful and friendly and it is popular with the locals. Overall it's not a bad spot at all to enjoy a pint or two and some pub grub if you fancy it.
As a Bateman's house the cask offer was solely theirs with XXXB and Gold on alongside a range of keg offers including Brewdog Punk IPA which, on a hot evening, was the beer of choice.
I wouldn't divert here for one but would happily drop in if passing and thirsty.

This is a Bateman's tied house with a focus on food and a modern interior .You enter into an area of high tables immediately infront of the bar, while to the left is a dining area with an exceptionally long bench in patterned velour. The other side also has dining type tables,a modern fireplace and a few Chesterfield chairs. The stars of the show were a very pleasant team of barmaids, chatty, helpful and friendly and there is no problem just drinking at the high tables, there is also an elevated terrace to the front ,a natural suntrap in good weather.
Two handpumps were offering Batemans XXXB and Blonde, not very exciting so a keg Brewdog Punk IPA had to suffice, although it was not very interesting either. The menu looked pub grub style ,but I didn't eat so wont comment on quality but this is the main reason for calling in.
