A little of the beaten track (probably an asset). Situated on Running Hill Gate at the top of Church Road in Uppermill. At least 266 yrs old (celebrated it's 250th in 1995 I am still recovering) An excellent venue,although in the past has had some problems with a couple of unusual!! tenants however it is now perfect. The current tenants are fabulous and run a very good establishment the beer is excellent (J.W.Lees) The food is very very good and great value. A good local trade despite its being some way out of the local village of Uppermill and is a bit of a community centre. I have only two gripes; a tied tenancy with little choice of ales, also can be pleasantly rowdy when trying to have a quiet chat.
