This is a bar aimed at board games geeks. It was fairly empty on my Saturday evening visit, with only a couple of tables being taken. There are several areas in the main bar and another room upstairs. There's also a place where you can buy the games. The bar is to the right and has no real ale, so I had a half of Blue Moon which was overpriced. I'm not sure that this is going to work in the long run as it's aimed at students and they don's have the money to pay these prices. Won't be bothering with this again.

Alchemy is a new opening replacing the long closed Haus.
Once inside there are different areas to the front and there is a small bar in a area to the rear right, the seating is normal tables and chairs, this is a games pub so everybody apart from me were playing weird looking board games, the downstairs area was packed,so i went upstairs where there are a few different rooms, all busy with people playing board games,i fount it funny watching four student types trying the play a game and not understanding what they were doing.
There were no real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Youngs London Porter which was expensive, but a very nice drink, there was also Kozel and Blue Moon on keg.
This is not a drinkers place at all,but if you like playing board games that you dont understand then this is the place for you.
Note: There is a time limit downstairs on games played, but if you really dont know what you are doing with these games go upstairs where there is no time limit.
