With the name arising from the first licensee, George Colton Moore, the pub dates from the mid-19th century and features on CAMRA’s list of pubs with interiors of historic interest, this being of Some Regional Interest; it also backs onto Queen’s Tennis Club.
The front bar is tiny and displays what CAMRA calls ‘publican’s rustic’ and indeed, the interior of the front bar looks like a village pub. Up a few steps, and there’s a tiny room with a pew and fireplace. Further into the building and there’s a much more modern room, which looks like a canteen/wine bar and beyond, is a dining/function room; it’s like several pubs, but it’s the tiny front bar where you’ll want to be, with all its charm and knickknacks. A major annoyance was to be found in a couple of selfish customers watching the football on their phone, commentary providing annoying tinny background sound.
Ales amounted to one reversed Five Points clip, then Five Points Pale at a very reasonable £2.25 a half and in great shape, served by a charming barmaid who apologised for having to ‘…deal with an alcoholic stuck in the cellar’; whatever next?
This is a very nice pub, but the staff really need to deal with antisocial phone use, because it really put me off my stay.

Pleasingly still going strong and unchanged from my previous visit in November 2010
Beers on were Adnams Lighthouse, Pride and Doom Bar. Beer is pricey - Lighthouse was £ 4 - but there's an old fashioned charm about this place and I shall continue to drop in occasionally
Original review from November 2010 - Hidden away in the residential side streets behind Queens Tennis Club, a 5-10 minute walk away from Barons Court Tube Station, is The Colton Arms, a small single bar pub that, to a large degree, has the look and feel of an old fashioned country village local.
The bar counter is directly in front of you as you enter and the drinking area extends to cosy alcoves at each end of the counter. Darkened beams and horse brasses give a real country pub feel to the place. Dark carved woodwork is much in evidence – note in particular the high back on the prominent settle on the right. The pub features in CAMRA’s book of London Heritage Pubs.
The long standing landlord, Norman, has now been in situ here for 45 years and the congratulatory letter dated November 2010 from Ted Tuppen of Enterprise has been framed and is proudly displayed behind the bar.
A long overdue visit on a recent Saturday lunchtime brought it home to me what a fine community local this is. Everyone seems to know everyone else here, but the occasional passing stranger / pub anorak such as yours truly receives a warm and cordial welcome. Perhaps reflecting the immediate area, there’s a slightly upmarket and refined ambience.
There’s no fruit machines or musical distractions, just a small inconspicuous TV high up above the fireplace.
On the drinks front, beer is served in pint jug glasses. Beers on were London Pride, Sambrooks Wandle and Doom Bar. Both the Pride and Wandle – at a rather pricey £ 3.70p – were in good form.
Don’t be overly discouraged by the high prices – this is a pub well worth seeking out.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Colton Arms
A resolutely old-fashioned pub (and none the worse for that), making it stand out from the usual run of West London bars. Just one, small, staple-shaped room with little alcoves at each end of the counter. Real ales - always in good form in my experience - served in traditional 'jugs', and lagers offered in a plainer glass with a handle. Three handpumps offering Doom Bar, Flowers IPA and Pride (pricy at £3.90). Off the beaten track, but well worth a few minutes detour from Barons Court underground to find this rare survivor. NB - It closes between 15:00 and 18:00 on weekday afternoons.
