Wow, what a throw back, customer service? WTF is that? Multi room pub with little to recommend it. Had to wait for arsey barmaid to deign to serve me then I had to speak verrrrry slooowly before she got it I only wanted a Carling. About eight unused pulls dotted about and all the poor kegs you expect, hence the Carling order. Nice exterior and some decent bits left inside. Poor quality punters. Oh it’s probably the closest pub to Blackpool North station, I wouldn’t bother again. Oh dear.

Attractive brewer’s tudor building housing a trad working class boozer with the Tyson Fury fight on full blast and packed full of blokey blokes so a boisterous but non-threatening atmosphere, I stood out like a sore thumb but was left to my own devices. Dark varnish wood panelling and some other nice touches gives you a hint that this was perhaps a more upmarket establishment 50 years ago (bell pushes, upper-servery decoration etc). Oddly, there’s an old style pair of scales in the gents which looked like still worked. GBG ’22 listed but just one cask on, Thwaites Wainwright, flat warm and appley (NBSS 1.5) so a mystery GBG pick, especially so given reviews elsewhere mentioning ‘ok’ and ‘mediocre’ pints – the local branch obviously have soft spot for this one. Anyway I dumped the filth and made good my escape. If you swerve the cask then you'd probably have a decent 30 mins in here, there's enough to look at. 5.5

Still a tired pub but it did give away free curry and rice on the afternoon I visited.
