Not a place I can wholeheartedly recommend as a drinking venue although I have seen films here and that was fine. The bar is the cafe section beside the box office so a shared space with cinema goers and old people who’ve strayed in for a cake and coffee or indeed a beer. A wood and tile clad counter is found to the left, it does at least have three pulls, two in action with Brew York beers but of uninspiring quality. Two low T-bars have some Camden, Peroni and something I didn’t recognise Polestar? Brutalist concrete architecture inside and out with a big glass wall on the riverside. Cafe style seating and service, the right hand side has sofas and armchairs, as with Revolution next door the best feature is the riverside terrace.

Down an alleyway stands the Picturehouse City Screen cinema in a modern building, with a cafe bar occupying the ground floor. Inside is all glass, steel and concrete but made good by a glazed wall overlooking the river with a nice decking area outside. Even better is a clutch of 3 handpumps on the café counter, offering TT Landlord, Ainsty Assassin and a house pale ale, also from Ainsty (you would probably be lucky to find them all on at the same time though). The place always seems bustling and there are apparently discounted beer prices for cinema membership holders. Quite pleasant, especially if you can get a riverside table.
