Interior basically as was in its spoons days. Real ales down to 4 taps 3 don’t look in use and the 1 that looks in use was off.

I never made it to this place while it was a JDW Lloyds bar nor as a Yates before that. I was quite interested to see what Amber Taverns had done with it. The first thing that struck me was the racket coming from the speakers. They were playing pop music at a horrendous volume and it was modern rubbish where all the vocalists sound like aliens from Dr Who. The next thing I noticed was the largest TV screen I've ever seen above the bar showing Sky Sports presumably with the sound off. There was another massive screen over to the left. For some reason the balcony area was closed off and there was no sign of any food.
Although the bar has four hand pumps all were out of use. I went for a 1664 lager (£2.90) something I haven't tried in decades.
I thought this place was truly dreadful, the only good thing about it being the huge sense of relief after leaving it. It gets a well deserved score of shame.
