Will Larter left this review about Horse & Groom
Another of Doncaster's outwardly impressive pubs, but this one was even more of a let down than the Coach & Horses. I got the impression they had recently reopened after a refurbishment, with fashionable grey paint slobbered onto every surface. The bar has two unused hand pumps and the lass who served me said "only £1.75" as she handed me my half of John Smiths Smooth Crap - "only my most expensive keg beer of the day" I almost replied. She was in a hurry to rejoin her boyfriend or colleague in a game of pool - there were no other customers. I rejoined everyone else in the outside world as soon as I could. The background music refused to stay in the background, and one of my bêtes noires of pub sound systems, Californication by Red Hot Chilli Peppers, drove me out of the door a lot quicker than I came in.

Old Boots left this review about Horse & Groom
Delicious Deco exterior with some remaining “Hewitts Grimsby Ales” etched windows. The nicer stuff ends there, light grey stripped out interior, tall tables to one side, short ones to the other, pool table at the back. Two unused pulls on the counter corner plus a range of standard kegs. Music, screens and machines to complete the picture.
