This is normally our first port of call after the Wigan Beer Festival at Wigan Pier. It's right on the canal, in fact here's a boathouse underneath it. All one room, but separated by wooden partitions to give a multiple room feel. It's a bit isolated from the rest of Wigan, so it needs a special walk out here, usually via the Swan & Railway. 4 handpumps on the bar serving changing guest ales, but if you call when the festival isn't on there's usually only 2 available. The local Prospect brewery feature regularly. Very popular when Wigan are at home.
