A modernised box with big clear windows and doors along the frontage. Inside the grey counter runs front to back along the right wall, in front of that a line of high tables and stools with a machine at each end. Lower tables and chairs are found to the left and there’s a small pool table near the back wall and a raised area in the back left corner. At the back is a secluded seating area with tall seating. Decor is largely witty signs, oh how I laughed. I counted seven screens around the bar including three on the bar back, you’ll never miss anything exciting here. There are two unused pulls at the front end of the counter and 13 keg taps, unlucky for some, well probably everyone who doesn’t like the usual international mix of lagers, ciders and Guinness, it not only has Caffrays but double John Smith Smooth. Mostly a demographic of more mature gentlemen at opening time more mixed when I passed by later.

The Yorkshire Grey has a bar on the right hand wall, high tables in the centre and seating along the front windows and left hand wall. There is also a raised seating area to the right rear and plasma screens throughout compliment the two projector screens. The pub was pretty quiet on the recent Saturday afternoon that I visited whilst a premiership football match was playing via Sky Sports. Table football can be found in a corridor at the rear that leads to the toilets and a paved beer garden out the back. Within the garden are some picnic tables covered by a couple of jumbrellas, another two plasma screens and a test your kicking strength football machine.
The bar is stocked with standard draught and I counted four hand pumps. One of these was unused leaving Copper dragon Brewery’s Silver Myst, Marston’s Single Hop El Dorado and Rudgate Brewery’s Jorvik Blonde as the ale options.

Out of the pubs I visited during a crawl of the area I thought that this was the most comfortable place to sit and watch the football and the service was very friendly. I would have no problem returning for another afternoon beer, but the football machine in the garden leads me to believe that I would find this pub less enjoyable weekend evenings.
