Have been past this corner venue with inviting large windows many times over the years but never ventured in. It is ostensibly a very busy student pub near many of the main Cardiff Uni buildings. It certainly had the students packed in mid Thursday evening. The pub is bare boarded with bar with three serving areas between the pillars on one wall about midway in the pub. A pool table was well in use and unusally for the time of evening the footy was being shown with loud commentary pervading the above above the energetic student chatter.

Quaffs wise I had hoped there would be some cask options having checked a few pics on line pre visit but they seem to these days only serve beers from shiny taps. Saying that there was a good craft selection, the Capo and Liquid from local brewery Flowerhorn, the Barry Island IPa from Brains, Beavertown Lunar haze, and an Aussie Pale from Gods called Jester No 9. There were a few flavoured ciders and some standard ones so the place clearly sees a market selling ciders to students!

I liked this pub but would definitely try to revisit at an earlier time when it wasn’t so busy and loud.
