Four handpumps, two seemingly unused, two with the clips turned round. V disappointing. Keg offering of Moretti and the Sale Di Mare version, Amstel, Cruz, Inch's, Guinness, Barry Island IPA and Inch's Riverside.

There is a small amount of seating outside at the front and then the front entrance takes you into the public bar on the left-hand side or the lounge bar on the right-hand side. The bar counter in the public bar is to the immediate left-hand side of the entrance with a different tiled skirt to the rest of the tiled flooring in this bar area. There is some tall stool seating at the bar counter and then a mish mash of seating options with a log burner on the wall opposite the bar counter. No screens and the space is traditionally decorated. The bar counter on the lounge bar side has the same keg taps as on the bar counter in the public bar and offers tall stool seating at the bar counter plus some bucket like armchairs at regular tables in front of the bar counter that side. To the left of the area is a set of regular tables laid for diners. There is a function room at the rear of the venue that looked like it was infrequently used. One of the first Value of Glamorgan pubs I visited in the early 90’s, where it had a good reputation as a dining venue. Can’t speak on that front as it was a swift keg beer visit for me today, but it was most disappointing as a beer venue – I would have expected much better.
