Village pub that seems to be focused towards food.
There are a few car parking spaces to the left side of the pub with a larger car park beyond an outdoor patio. It is from this patio that you access the pub through a door that initially didn't seem like the main entrance. But after a tour around the pub, it became clear that it was the only way in!
Two rooms inside, with one to the left being the bar and the one to your right as you enter being a dining area. Both are a reasonable size. With not much custom on my Friday lunchtime visit, I remained the only customer in the bar, whilst a trickle of people went into the dining room.
The bar was playing some fairly bland music. There is a pull-down big screen next to a dartboard in one corner. Wye Valley Butty Bach is the regular beer. I chose the guest beer, which was Glamorgan Dead Canary. There was no real cider.
To get a better idea, I would have liked to have visited at a busier time. However, on my visit, there was a lack of atmosphere and it all felt a bit bland. The beer was ok though.

The Woodlands is a great little pub in a small village. Bit hard to find but that just gives it more charm! The food when I and my wife eat there is always excellent, nothing like the normal pub-grub you find in some places. A great selection of beers is always available and my tells me that the wine list is pretty strong as well!
I would highly recommend anyone living in the area to find the place and visit, and if your around the area make a trip to vist - it is well worth while.
