Backstreet pub situated in a residential area well away from Windsor town centre.
Opening times here are a bit limited, with the pub not opening until 3pm during the week. We arrived pretty much spot on 3pm for our Monday visit. The pub is nicely appointed inside with plenty of odds and ends scattered around the pub to admire. There is also artwork on the walls, which can be purchased.
London Pride is the regular beer here. However, they do also stock a guest beer, which on this occasion was Hobgoblin. There is a large garden to the rear, but it was far too cold for that. The barman/landlord was friendly. But the mundane beer choice is not enough to tempt me out of the centre for a repeat visit any time soon.

A disappointing revisit after the high of April. Three ales on but a dull choice of Doom Bar, Pride and an underwhelming Youngs Ordinary. Not many punters either (the first reason begats the second?). Down a mark, sadly. Come on!

A backstreet local that wasn’t on my radar but a real find, the occasional unexpected little gem that makes the old pub trawling worthwhile. L-shaped interior with high ceilings, chunky wood tables and traditional furnishings. Interesting to read Maldenman's review below as the fabric of the pub is just as described: “Quirky sort of place with all sorts of nik-naks, old clocks, tin signs, theatre and film flyers, a large metal lighthouse and a US airforce model biplane suspended from the ceiling.” Worth also noting that some of the bric-a-brac on the windows sills appeared to be for sale. Busy and buzzing on an late Saturday afternoon, shifting a fair bit of food but still drinker-friendly. Three ales on - Pride, Doom Bar and a welcoming sighting of WEBREW Zinzan’s Drop which was in very good shape. A selection of daily papers were on the bar. Pleasant decking and grassed area to the rear. Well-worth the ten minute walk from town based on this visit and I’ll be back again next time I do Windsor. Rated 7

A little off the beaten track being the other side of the by-pass from the town centre and fairly quiet at 4pm yesterday. Two handpumps but only one in use, serving Pride. Nevertheless it was pulled through in quantity before serving......apparently mine was the first of the day! Decent condition it has to be said.
Quirky sort of place with all sorts of nik-naks, old clocks, tin signs, theatre and film flyers, a large metal lighthouse and a US airforce model biplane suspended from the ceiling. Wooden floors, a mix of seating and candles on the tables. Nice garden to the rear with more tin signs and two WW2 arc lights......not sure if they work, bet the neighbours like them if they do!
A friendly Highland Terrier completes the scene. All in all a relaxing pleasant place, a better beer selection would warrant a higher rating, perhaps there isn't the demand/through pull?
