Since the new landlord took over here in September 2016 This place has gone from strength to strength . He has won a cask marque award for his ales, which change frequently and are kept superbly. The food here is spot on and all homemade onsite. The fact that this pub gets packed to the rafters every weekend whilst its neighbouring pubs are all empty is testament in itself to how well things are going . They have recently taken over the Butchers arms down the road as well so I hope they work the same magic there that they have in the Victoria

A massive refurb here and is now sporting some ale. Interior has been opened-out, lightened up and there's now a conservatory and decent garden. Food offered. Two ales on last month, Sharps Atlantic and Doom Bar, both in good shape. Promising...

Shame there's no real ale here as it's not too bad inside, certainly better than a number of the other pubs nearby. They did experiment with Pride a while back but it was a disaster by all accounts. Previously traded as the Dragon & Elephant, and before that The White House (the local bus still refers to the stop outside as this!).
