Quick revisit mid-ramble. Glad to see that much of my addled memory was correct. Two ales on; West Berkshire GOB and Swift, the latter of which was in decent nick. There’s a grassed beer garden round the back that looks like someone’s garden – but is for the pub! It’s a nice little stop here.

Worse for wear (pub 10 of 10) so garbled notes. Pub has conservatory with a cosy and ‘culturally interesting’ interior beyond and what looked like two bars. Two ales on, the West Berks was on good form (too sloshed to note the other). Board games available. Fire (looked like a real one through the beer goggles) lit and created a snug feel. Food offered. Seemed like a nice place and I’d be up for revisit. Rated 7.5
