Now a shop.

Functional bar at the base of a particularly nasty 60's tower block, with no ale any time I've put my head round the door. Used to be a haunt of the TVU students from across the road when called the Cap and Gown but over the last few years it's gained a fairly poor reputation and most of the students have seemingly scuttled off, leaving it fairly devoid of customers. This is exacerbated by it being located relatively near to other, better, venues. Made a number of Good Beer Guide appearances in the early 80's.

Great place to hang out and meet friendly people including staff. Good food at reasonable prices and extencive range of drinks.
