This is an end-terrace corner pub with patio area at the back. It had not long reopened at my visit and had been tidied-up (hence a slight smell of paint). In Georgian style, it is in white, with black paintwork around the door and new windows. The interior has an L-shaped room, with white and a salmon colour on the walls, wood floor and white ceiling - the top end is white and red with a carpet. There is an iron fireplace. There was nothing really in the way of pictures and ephemera. There is a pool table at one end. There is a TV, which had cycling on and there was no music. The service was great and the locals very friendly. Beer; usual tap stuff with Doombar on handpull - it was fine and the only real ale i encountered on the tour of this old town. This is a small oasis in the barren real ale land of Egremont - it maybe a ubiquitous beer, but at least they had one.
