Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Village Inn
Witchford is a village to the west of Ely and the local boozer is aptly named the Village Inn. You enter to find a rather impressive wooden bar in front of you. There are TVs and fireplaces to both the left and the right. TNT & Sky Sports are advertised outside.
There is a small lounge area to the rear left and a raised stage area to the rear right. Toilets are also off to the left. The flooring is floorboards, with tiles at the bar.
With just 3 other customers inside, the barman claimed that Saturday evenings were always quiet. Perhaps the DJ advertised for a Friday night provides more of a draw. A curry night was also advertised, but there was no sign of any food being served for my visit.
Cask ales were Abbot & Landlord. The cider was Thatcher's Gold.
There is a car park to the rear, with a rather dishevelled outdoor patio area that is partly covered. There were also some tables at the front, where there were a couple of other customers. This pub felt a bit down on its knees, but as an outsider I didn't feel unwelcome.
