Yet another busy dining pub (see nearby Tavern and Observatory) though in this instance there was also a smattering of Leeds Rhinos fans (like me) incongruously watching the start of the Man Utd v Chelsea game on the telly. There were three hand pumps on the bar, with Caledonian Deuchars IPA and 61 Deep from Marstons - I went for the devil I know rather than the new one. I'm glad I did, as the description reads: "five American and Australian hops give it its fresh, zesty aroma, whilst the tropical fruit and citrus notes make it extremely drinkable". Not my sort of beer at all. The Deuchars was in reasonable condition. This pub is much bigger than its external appearance initially seems to promise, and it was pretty much full on this Sunday afternoon; I'll bet it's a bit of a graveyard during the week, though.
