The Cricketers was our least favourite of 4 pubs tried in Sandbach on Saturday. Situated a short walk from the town centre, it was the last of the pubs we tried to visit, only to find it closed mid-afternoon. A quick message to the owners revealed it would open at 5pm and this appears to be the case every day, not just Saturday.
As such, we returned at the end of the night to find a small, but packed pub. There is a short and narrow drinking corridor with a couple of brick pillars separating the two sides of the pub, with the bar itself at the rear. Nearly all available seating was taken, with some kind of live music, possibly an open mic session, about to start on the right-hand side. A live FA Cup game was showing in the left-hand side.
Cross Bay Halo - The EPA is the regular beer and was in good shape. A guest beer was Three Tuns XXX. There was no real cider. But I understand there may be one during the summer months.
I started the review by saying that this my least favourite of Sandbach's pubs. But for a small town, there are some great pubs here. This one is good, without being great.

The Cricketers is a smallish basic locals pub.
This was a Burtonwood tied house but there were no real ales on the bar i had a drink of keg Burtonwood bitter and this was a poor drink.
