Will Larter left this review about The Angel & Crown
Tucked away in an alley close to the church, the Angel & Crown opens at 10am and has a collection of regulars who call in for a beer at that time. I was here at 11:55 and went for a sensible half of Hophead, resisting the temptation of Fullers ESB this early in the day. Coincidentally, on my first visit to Richmond, the next customer to walk in was a former resident of the town and frequenter of this pub, returned after 50 years and with an Australian accent that explained his absence. There are four hand pumps and my half was a stonking £3.40 (NBSS 3.5). This is a very pleasant pub, with the large front room showing signs of having been two or more smaller rooms (though the returning native claimed the bar was exactly as he remembered it) but a very pleasant small lounge to the rear, with dart board.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Angel & Crown
Tucked away in a small alleyway, this Fuller's pub is a bit of a strange mixture. It has a few features of interest, such as the little partly-screened snug in one corner, but is more of a sports bar (with clientele to suit) than I was expecting. Rather spartan in terms of furniture and decor, with the silent TV screens dominating the bar area, but there are high tables with menus along the front windows and a separate lounge-like seating area towards the rear. Several small metal tables out front. Background music. Two banks of four handpumps, both offering Pride, ESB, HSB (£3.95) and Liberation Ale as a guest. Overall, I didn't find the place particularly welcoming.
