This was my last pub stop before attending to the ostensible reason for my visit to Macclesfield: the appearance of Luton Town at Moss Rose football ground just down the road. Due to reasons such as time being short and conversation of a football nature intruding, my notes are less detailed than for other pubs on the same evening. Suffice to say that the Fosters and John Smith logos that are seen prominently on the outside are not the full story. The diagonally placed bar also has three (I think) hand pumps - we had a swift half each of Robinsons Unicorn, and the other beer may have been Bombardier. The fact that real ale is available in a pub which makes no mention of such on its exterior is a pleasant change, and may encourage me to spend rather more time in here than at the football match on my next visit.
