There was a bouncer on the door of the Three Bridges when I visited on a recent midweek evening, which I thought odd until I walked into this busy pub where televisions throughout were airing Champions League build up commentary for a Newcastle match. Laminate floored throughout, there’s a mix of booths, tables and banquettes mainly in the left-hand side where there’s also a couple of dartboards. In the centre of the pub just off to the right is a large open space that is faced by the serving counter across the rear wall and a stage on the right wall that is used for regular live weekend music, although this is primarily a sports pub. Standard and premium keg were available and two of the three hand pumps were in use drawing Allendale’s Golden Plover and Weston’s Old Rosie. This isn’t somewhere I’d go out of my way to revisit, but as large sports pubs go this place is pretty good.

Real Ale Ray left this review about The Three Bridges

A good sized corner pub, showing sport on a good few screens around the place. The interior was similar to spoons with a few differences, the tables were clean and tidy and not stuffed up with menus. There was lots of dark painted ceiling beams and timber flooring throughout. The seating was mostly tables and chairs, along with some bench seating over on the left hand side. The bar area was positioned along the back wall and hosted one ale and one cider on handpump, Maxim Brewery Swedish Blonde & Lilley's Mango Cider.

As noted below, this could be a Spoons if you didn't know better from the lack of ale. At least I got my directions to the Head of Steam.
