We recently tried this pub for our regular Tuesday night old gits caver meet and found it very good indeed. Both us and our dog were warmly welcomed by the landlady and we even got a free bowl of chips! have returned several times since and found it great for lunch time food and consistently good real ale. There seem to be 3 regular brews including "Silk of Amnesia" and an interesting regularly changing 4th. The landlady, the landlord, and locals are all strong characters and liven up any visit.

We came here recently on one of our Peak District pub crawls by public transport - it was the third pub of the day, and although not as good as the first two, was still very pleasant. There were four real ales: Storm "Silk of Amnesia", Church End "Goats Milk", Adnams Bitter and Bradfield "Yorkshire Farmer".
