Nice enough pub with a good selection of real ales - five in total. As I was driving I couldn't try any of them, unfortunately. To the left as you enter there is an eating area.

I have passed this pub several times on my bike but always when it was closed: Mondays and Tuesdays, and other days after 3pm. So on this occasion we made a point of timing our ride to get here before closing time. When I mentioned this to the landlord he said they are always happy to open at other times, but I assume he means with advance warning rather than pounding on an obviously locked door!
The pub is a complex of buildings that appear to have aggregated over the years - the entrance is further round than you might suppose, on the car park side. There are some benches set on a grassy patch to the back of the pub, and a stone one on the edge of the car park. Inside are a medley of small, bright rooms, with a bar featuring five hand pumps. At the time of our visit these were serving one cider and four beers: Leatherbritches Y Not Festival Ale was a seasonal brew coinciding with the eponymous festival, and my notes also mention Church House Hop Gun and Cottage Imperial Gold. We only meant to have one, but the combination of the hard ride to get here and the quality of the beer tempted us to have a second.

This is a really nice smallish pub that is stone built, there were quite a few people drinking outside on the picnic benches.
Once inside here it was quite nice and there were three real ales on the bar i had a drink of Whim Hartington Bitter this was very nice the other beers were Storm Desert Storm and Thornbridge Lord Marples which i thought was a decent choice of locally brewed beers.
I would happily come here again for a drink.
