1625 Building - thick white washed walls, low ceiling, flag floors - you know what to expect.
Nice little beer garden to the side.
Beer was changing on every visit over our weeks holiday - Hunters Brewery Pheasant Plucker, St Austell Tribute and Proper Job and Exmoor Ale.
Food was very good.
Service excellent.
Great village pub.

5 years ago if you weren't waiting outside as the pub was opening you couldnt get a seat! Now completely different. As soon as we walked in we (I have an 8 year old) we were told we could sit on tables 1-8 (by the door which was propped open and it was a cold day) or the fmily rooom (which was a dirty dump with a crap play area for toddlers), by a very unwelcoming woman. My child is obviously too old for the play area and just sits quietly and plays the Nintendo anyway! In fact, the pub has signs up about where you can sit - adults tables 9-14 and 21-25 and dogs can sit on tables 16-25! Very dictatorial. The Guinness tasted foul, the draught pepsi was flat, wine was ok as it came out of a bottle!! We decided not to eat as the pub wasnt very clean. shame, as 5 years ago they made the most gorgeous spag bol, in a welcoming, clean pub - not anymore!
