The Ship looks out over Chichester Harbour just before the bridge onto Hayling Island. This location results in the pub being very popular indeed so seating and indeed parking can be at a premium.
Fullers now, an ex-Gales house which had Pride, Red Fox, HSB, Dark Star APA and Old Rosie cider on hand pump. Very food centric and prices were above average but the quality was fine.
The ground floor bar is boarded, some exposed brickwork, lots of nautical stuff on the walls including of interest, maps of the harbour and also a German map of Southampton and Portsmouth, possibly dating from WW2. A side room is labelled as a snug and has board games.
Upstairs is more of a restaurant. The ceiling here has open beams with a boat suspended at one end.
There is also an outdoor terrace looking onto the harbour directly, there was a covered tent type thing here which I suppose enables year round use.
A nice spot, worth a visit but get there early on a good weather day.

Visited on a clear sunny day and I was lucky to get a parking spot. The main bar was clean and polished the locals and barman chatty. Good selection of real ales a bit pricey but you are paying for the fantastic views across the bay. The cheaper menu was nothing out of the ordinary but the specials board was well worth the extra money.
A pleasure to visit and hope to return.

Another lovely spot. Just before bridge to Hayling Island, overlooking Chichester harbour, free public car park adjacent, but could be very busy in summer
