Recently refurbished and reopened under the same management as The Kings Arms at Bowness on Solway, but with plenty of work still to do. The outside had just finished being painted, with blue on the stonework around the windows. Inside they need to get some pictures on the walls and carpet on the floor to improve the acoustics as much as the appearance. No cask ale on today, with Kowabunga from Cromarty (if my ears, memory and online research are to be believed) having given its last yesterday, and not expecting to be resurrected until tomorrow. (I had the same experience later the same day at the King's Arms - there are few enough cask ale pubs in this sparsely populated area without two of them not serving it at the same time.) I went for Thwaites Smooth, about which the least said the better.
