Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Rose & Crown
Superficially plain yet attractive pub, with a white part-weatherboarded facade set above the road behind a patio seating area at the front. Very traditional inside the various seating and dining areas within, supplemented by a compact paved garden at the back. With three of the five handpumps in use, I found a couple of Harvey's beers - Armada Ale as well as the ubiquitous Sussex Best (£5.00) - plus North Downs Pale from Titsey.

Strongers . left this review about Rose & Crown
The Rose and Crown is a hike down the hill from Mayfield High Street and has much more of a country feel being on the edge of the village. There are some picnic tables out the front and a small garden with a raised decking area can be found out the back. There is a car park and when there are no spaces there is free parking on the street. As I walked through the entrance two gentlemen of pensionable age walked out leaving me as the only customer on a recent Monday afternoon. The barman was very friendly and I had a decent half of Harvey’s Best which was the only ale option. Two hand pumps were unused, but Weston Bounds Scrumpy Cider was available alongside Staropramen and a standard draught selection. I didn’t see any menus, but I was asked if I was going to be eating so there must be food of some description.
To the right of the bar there is some seating and a log fire and down some steps to the left there is a larger area that I took as being for diners.
I’m not sure that I would go out of my way to visit here again, but as a quick stop off I suppose it does the job.
