Out of curiosity I popped in here on Wednesday evening last week and found a seafront bar in the midst of a karaoke night (I hate karaoke). The venue is basically a large open plan square with a small area just past the bar where a pool table is located. I spotted a few signs up on the walls for more karaoke and live music the following Saturday, but I don’t know if this was a one off or a regular occurrence. There is a plasma screen behind the bar that was showing muted Champions League highlights, but I didn’t see any advertisements for Sky Sports. I found the two young barmaids to be friendly enough and although there is only a standard draught range I did enjoy my pint of Guinness.

Located opposite the pier this place relies heavily on passing trade and the other customers were very excitable young girls with the ability to out shout Concorde along with a few horny couples. In my opinion this bar is more for tourists that feel like escaping their families who have stayed in the hotel to watch the jazz singers/pianists.

I’ll be giving this place a miss in future.
