The Cumberland Inn has seating in the windows to the right of the entrance before a serving counter that runs up the right-hand wall, standard and premium keg products were available. A mosaic floor runs along the counter and to the left is wood panelled open plan seating area on laminate flooring that is faced from the front by a stage, on which is a wood panelled DJ booth that looks like a court dock. At the rear is a dartboard, and green banquettes are found along more wood panelled walls that wrap around a pool table. Monday night football via Sky Sports was muted on the televisions while some music from the 1970s played in the background. Out the back is a small beer garden with picnic tables where the music is also piped into. I quite liked it in here, but some of the old gents were extremely pissed so it may be somewhere to avoid at the weekend.

Nice frontage and a suitably woody interior, lots of panelling, bit of mosaic floor (probably modern) and a leaded skylight over the counter; WhatPub tells me it is grade II listed. No cask beer, although there are two unused pulls on the counter, just a horseshoe of low end national kegs, WhatPub says Jennings Cumberland is usually on. Nowhere near as busy as ‘spoons next door, a fair mix of clientele but tending to the codger end, probably gets younger later. Multi space layout where walls have been removed. Constant music and usual screens and machines, and one of those useless rotating snack dispensers that usually eat my pound coin. DJ booth in one corner with speakers and lights n stuff so may be one to avoid on post plague weekends even if you fancy the beer or just admiring the interior.
