Quinno _ left this review about Yates's
Due to the pouring rain hindering progress and the time being pre-midday, we ended up for a swift one in Yates out of a resigned desperation. However we were pleasantly surprised by this one. Like the JDW we had just left, this place was unusually dinky for a Yates which probably helped. Three ales available though it transpired that all but one were off. The one left standing, Bombardier, was in pretty good form and gratifyingly cheap (under £2), dispensed from a fancy font I initially mistook for a lager one. The barman was also surprisingly helpful, pointing out (unprompted) the bafflingly small difference in price between the halves we were intending to order and the pints we eventually opted for. Overall this was more like a Spoons, what with the coffee machine on the go and people eating. The interior looks to have had a fairly recent overhaul, flock wallpaper and other touches. Our seats by the large front windows allowed to us to spy on our next target pub, the Bell, and bemoan the atrocious weather. My fellow crawlee returned later for the football and seemed happy enough. Note, this used to be Litten Tree back in the day.
Whilst I certainly wouldn’t be recommending this to all and sundry as an experience, I’ll give credit where credit’s due.
