Appealing old frontage though more modern inside, but it’s a tastefully done place. There’s a public bar at the front with a lounge to the rear via a side corridor. Exposed brick walls, Burberry style carpet and plush bench seating is the order of the day. Three ales on; Sharps Doom Bar, Tetley Bitter and Thwaites Wainwright (ostensibly ok). Unfortunately the barmaid wasn't on form and after failing to work out 30p change I then discovered my glass was dirty and smelt of cheese. Crawl fodder but not much more, but a more adventurous ale selection could help. Along with a better dishwasher and more switched-on staff.

A pleasant and well kept pub this one. This two roomed pub has a small front room and a slightly larger rear room and a flag stone floor lobby along the right hand side connecting both rooms. A mid positioned bar serves both rooms. The woodwork was mostly painted and oak doors and exposed ceiling beams were an added feature. Three ales on pump, so we went for the Marston's New World, the other two were Tetley and Doombar.
The staff here were very mannerly and customers respectable.
